I do recall seeing this warning when initially setting up the iris scanner. I'm not sure why people are interpreting it in the most convenient way. It clearly says not to stare into the scanner at less than 20cm.
Well yea...if you put your eyes centimeters away from any flahing light, it's going to hurt. Has nothing to do with the sensor itself.
What are you talking about? Iris scanner and facial recognition are two different things. You can't fool an Iris scanner.I think the iris scanner was not the best idea. Not only is it creepy looking at your own eyes on the screen, someone can still unlock the device with your picture. On top of that, you risk damaging your eyes with the infrared sensor. Fingerprint scanner and iris scanner was a fail. Should have made the fp scanner on the center of the back like most phones.
