Reading eMail (not gMail) in Landscape

Is there a way to change the settings of the corporate/POP email app so that when I'm reading an email in landscape, the email takes up the whole screen, and the inbox is hidden? Right now it shows a list of messages on the left quarter of the screen. This causes me to have to scroll horizontally to read some emails.

Email on my phone doesn't behave this way. It's just on the Nexus 7.

Thanks for any help.

There are a lot of folks who have been asking the same question - I have also been looking for a solution, since the list of emails actually takes up more than 1/3 of the screen space.
The Google support staff I talked with today could not identify any answer to this issue, so I asked Google Support to file a Request For Change to revise the email function.

I suggested 2 potential solutions:
1) simply make the landscape email function just like the portrait email function, with no list of emails showing at all; this would probably be the easiest change to make, and they could even make it configurable in the settings so you could turn it on or off as desired (for those who like the current functionality).
2) The optimum solution I suggested is to make the list of emails a touch sensative space so you could slide it open/closed as the individual's needs required.

Now it is just a wait and see when/if this RFC makes it onto the approved change list and finally into a release. Keep your fingers crossed!

Or they could look at the Blackberry Playbook, that awful product of a dying company, email app and simply put a toggle button to switch to and back from full screen. There are other features in the BBPB app that they might also consider.

For some reason, Amazon was smart enough to do that with their stock email app on the KFHD. Pretty much looked like a stock version of android email so it can probably be tweaked. Not sure why Google couldn't implement it but one off the first things I looked for when I setup my email. Was a bit disappointed when there was no option.
