reading SD card

just popped my SD card in my phone to install some APKs and it doesnt register anything on my card in linda file manager. no pictures or anything. i read on droidforums that i would have to copy everything to computer then re add them to SD card, has anyone had to do anything like that?

The internal ~11 GB of storage (that is built into the phone) is labelled as "/sdcard", but the actual sdcard that you insert into the card slot has a path of "/sdcard-ext". If you have software that requires files to be under /sdcard, then you will want to move them from your sdcard (/sdcard-ext) to the internal storage (/sdcard).

Are you good with passing shell commands to the device via ADB?

# mv /sdcard-ext/* /sdcard/
# exit
C:\>

You might have to put a -r flag in there if you're trying to move directories too.

i just typed in /sdcard-ext in linda manager and it pulls up just fine.
