I've been searching around the how-to guides and just can't seem to find an answer that explains what I'm looking for. I've unlocked/rooted/backed up and am ready to flash my first ROM...but where do I download it to? The root folder on the C drive of my computer? People say the "SD" of the Gnex...do I have to partition something? Help!!!!

You can do it two ways....

Most common download it to your computer then connect via USB and transfer it to your internal storage (sdcard). No special work or partitioning is required by you, when you connect via computer it will automatically place you in your root level/sdcard internal storage directory.

Download it directly to your device using 3rd party browsers like Dolphin or Miren, Firefox that don't have issues with zip files like the stock browser sometimes does.

Thanks for the reply! When I'm transferring to internal storage...where in internal storage do I put it? Just out in the open with all other folders?

Yes, "out in the open" as you call is what we call the "root" of the sd card. And just in case it came off wrong, I am just teasing you about the out in the open thing :-)

I always download my ROM's directly from my phone, usually from the default browser which puts the file ina directory it calls Downloads. Where the file resides on your phone is unimportant. The only thing that matters is that you know where it is so you can navigate to it when in recovery.

Haha don't worry about it! That was my problem - when people said put it in the root folder, I wasn't sure if they meant the actual root folder of the Nexus, or a folder literally labeled "root".

It doesn't matter. Just put it somewhere you can find when you're in recovery mode. Someone suggested making a ROM folder and that seems like a good idea.

I am lazy and flash too many things. Mine are just on the.root of the sd card and I clean it out once and awhile from the pc

Charged up post!
