My N20U requires a password entry almost every morning rather than using fingerprint or face unlock. I have the reboot turned off in the device care so I don't know what else might require a reboot? I assume its not hardware related otherwise presumably it would do it all the time. I cleared the cache recently and did a clean install setting up the device. Do any of you pros have any idea?

Hi, if it hasn't been touched in long period of time that's Android security happening to prompt for password

Thank you so much. I had visions of factory reseting the phone. I don't remember that happening on the N10+ or S20U. Is this something that can be turned off?

Also, can't seem to find any reference to do this on a quick search. The phone is only idle for 7 hours or so during sleep.

No , it's a security feature unfortunately can't be turned off. Your welcome!

This has been discussed a few times on the forums, I don't have the latest Samsung phones but I think a screen shot someone shared showed that with face unlock enabled the phone requires a pin whenever idle for 4 hours. Finger print was like 3 days. My S7, Note 8/9 all require a pin every few days when I have finger print unlock enabled.

It's a security feature that can't be disabled and the time for Facelock is so short because it isn't secure and can easily be fooled.

I haven't had this problem since turning off the facial recognition. The FPS now still shows when I wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night.

If you look in Settings|About Phone|Status, you can confirm when the last reboot was.

Same for me. I wear glasses and the facial recognition never works well for me, so I never use it (well, not only that, but it's one of the least secure ways to unlock your device) and my phone only requires passcode on Sunday mornings when I have it set to do a weekly reboot. Otherwise, it does not ever ask for the passcode unless I manually reboot.

If you use face recognition you need to enter password/pin once every 24 hours, or once every 72 hours if you have only fingerprints without face unlock. Nothing new and been always like that, applies to other Android phones as well.
