Hi all. This has been happening for a couple weeks now. When I use my phone for any amount of time, like more than 10 minutes, either talking or surfing, my phone reboots. Sometimes is gets stuck in a loop where it shows the white HTC incredible screen for a few seconds, goes blank, and shows the same screen again over and over until I do a battery pull. Any suggestions? Thanks!

First. Try clearing the cache in all of your apps under Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> All tab, clear the cache in each app. (I know it's a pain, but less of a pain then a reset.)

same thing happened to mine. verizon had me do a hard reset, worked for about a week and it came back. i then rooted my phone and ran skyraider 4 and that worked for about a month. i am now out of warranty so verizon wont be replacing it and dont know how to fix it apparently. so i pre ordered the evo 3d and ported my number... no other phones on verizon really caught my eye and i couldn't stand signing another two year contract for a phone i didn't like as much as the incredible. right now while i wait for my evo i'm running the latest cm7 stable and i can use the calling features and music player just fine but if i do anything else it still goes into reboot.

I figured Id let ya know what ended up happening. Since I couldnt get the phone to actually boot, my options were limited. I went to the verizon store, and about 10 seconds later I had a replacement phone ordered. Lots of help there. Anyway, since I had a new one on the way I did a factory data reset from the boot menu menu. Believe it or not it worked. Im still gonna send it back when my replacement gets here because its been having charging issues too. It heats up a LOT when its charging. So I have to do it in stages.

I have what may be a dumb question... I've heard in a lot of videos/ reviews that doing a hard reset will help with a lot of problems on the phones. I was wondering though when you do the factory reset is your number no longer on the phone and do you have to go to verizon to get the number put back on it? or once you re-enter your gmail account does the number auto sync to the device... I really want to try it because i've been having some issues and am hopeful it'd help but i don't wanna deal with any verizon people... Thanks!

after you reset you dial *228 i think it was... it should tell you once the reset completes.

you can do it from hboot

i had to pull the battery out and let it sit for half an hour before putting it back in the first time i reset.
