Received a fake text message: is it a virus or an ad? (Screen capture attached)

I receive the fake text message today and I'm not sure what it is. I know its fake because my messaging app does not have a message in it. I think it's an ad but I'm not sure. The thing that scares me is that it is a virus.

has anyone seen this before? does anybody know what it is?

I don't want to open it, but I am curious what it is. what should I do? any help will be appreciated thanks.

Is that the icon for a text message or for an email?

Try installing Lookout Ad Network Detector or something similar to sniff out any adware.

it is very similar to my text message icon, but not exact.

Thanks for the app look. I get these occasionally too. Not so much recently but it doesn't hurt to dl the app and have it scan your phone.

Yea I get those fake text sometimes too. I just delete them without opening them
