Receiving text message copies with weird sender numbers on my Verizon phone when sent from 6p.

I connect primarily via a Verizon MiFi when I travel. I have 2 phones, Google Fi and a Verizon phone. When I send a text message via the 6p, I also receive the message on my Verizon phone and the sender is listed as a completely different phone number. This is very annoying, as it starts a new conversation thread on my Verizon phone each time. How do I stop this? I have Verizon Messenger on my Verizon phone to I synchronize messages across my tablets and phones. I use the stock messaging app on my Google Fi phone.
