Receiving text messages problem

So guys, i'm pretty new to the androids and everything and i've had a lot of problems that were solved on this forum.

I have one more big problem right now.

So apparently I'm not always receiving text messages. I realized this when a girl texted me today and told me why I've been letting our conversations die. I have always thought that she didn't respond to my texts. But now I realized she did respond and I just didn't receive them. It's weird because we will be having a full convo and then I would just not receive a text from her, making me think she just didn't want to talk.

I'm currently factory resetting my phone, but i've already done this once before and it did not fix the issue. Any suggestions?

just to confirm--

log in to your verizon account, check your Text message usage, have her text you multiple times, and check it again tomorrow. see if they actually show up in the difference of todays' # vs tomorrow's #.

also, this isn't a ploy, have her send you a random picture--see if it's delivered to your phone.
if it isn't delivered--go to your online account & see if she is showing as a Sender, then check your vzwpix folder online and see if it shows up there.
**if the pic shows up online but not on phone=network is fine, your phone isn't checking in for those updates to messages

edit: you said you're not "always" receiving text messages, meaning you're getting texts intermittently---is this issue just involving Her (and what network is she on? ATT?)? i've never had good luck getting texts from ATT subscribers.

My text messages can not be sent as of now. I sent 3 to my wife and I didn't receive notification that it was sent successfully. I sent 3 to myself as a test and I did not receive them. GRRRR!

Well, my test text messages came through.....all at once. That means my wife's phone must of had a sound seizure as well. Wth.

well it looks like an excuse but she was the one who texted me asking why we weren't talking anymore haha.

And after I got that text I factory restored my phone right away. Texted a few other people after the restore, and it happened with another person. I had asked her a question, she responded but apparantly I never got it!

Its hard to keep track of messages like instructed because I send hundreds of texts a day anyways to other people. It seems to only happen with the few people that I text and not everyone though. And idk if it's a coincidence but they also have droids too, older models.

I may just return the phone tomorrow as the low battery life is killing me. I've had to charge it twice today. Unplugged at 11am, charged at 4pm, charged at 10pm. Both times phone was below 15%.

Love the android since I came from the blackberry but just having too many issues right now. May just wait for the bionic but dont want to lose the unlimited data plan....

oy. that sucks.
last resort, have you tried talking it through with a CSR? they usually attempt sending you a text/pix message and depending on your reception of it, they might push some sort of fix to you OTA (resetting your profile, PRL, etc)
really last resort, since most CSR aren't that great--but you can find a few who are amazing.
