Recent apps button not working

[AC Question]

I own a Samsung Galaxy J5 2016. Yesterday i went out with some friends and my phone ran out of battery. Previous to this, the recent apps button (the one which looks like 2 sheets of paper) worked fine. When i came home and charged my phone the button doesn't work anymore. The home and back button works fine. I tried rebooting my phone 5 times and it still doesn't work.

This could potentially be a hardware issue. My first question would be are you still under a year of ownership? If so, you could get a free replacement device with that type of issue. If not, there is a great gesture based app that I used to use when buttons didn't work. Linking you down below- you can set it to do the recent apps.

In either case, running a lithium battery to almost 0% is damaging to the battery. If you can't recharge it when it gets down to 40%, turn the phone off. (The battery doesn't care how much you need "just another 5 minutes" - deep-discharging the battery will ruin it.)
