Recent apps button

I am a new Note 10.1 2014owner. Somehow I cannot get it to use the 'proper' button for recent apps. I have to long press the 'home' button to get recent apps to show up. Is this normal behavior?

That's normal for that generation of Samsung devices. In the older days there was no recent dedicated button and instead there was a menu button.

If I'm not mistaken the Note 10.1 still has a back and menu buttons, so no 'recent apps' one. So yeah, long-pressing the Home button is the only way to get that menu to show up (or a 3rd party app that can re-assign the button functions, but that usually requires root).

Old Android devices had 4 buttons, Samsung doubled the home and recent apps on the physical home button.
