Pardon the length, but I've had a few bugs appear recently.
History-2016 Silverado. Not wireless. Ran for years wired to Samsung S23 ultra. Worked great. Updated to wireless using Rexing-CPW 42 Wireless adapter. Setup on first shot, no problems since November 2025.
I don't use the radio much. I use a flash drive with 4,900 songs stored on it and use the stereo system in the truck to play.
AA when starting shows map on left half and the other side has 2 windows one with frequent searches and the player controls (blank since i don't stream music) I just open the full screen map.
Problem- had an update the other day. As usual, wiped the cache partition after update. When I got in my truck later, the vehicle location icon on the screen was gone. Researched goggle and went to Settings > apps > Android Auto > Storage > and hit clear cache and clear data. Icon returned. No problem.
The next morning I get in my truck and start it. Suddenly I hear some woman with a New Zealand accent reading the news. My player on the screen decided to start streaming News Services from my phone. Finally got her to stop. Map came up. Truck icon is now a blue arrow. After first stop, blue arrow gone and replaced by truck icon. Then gone again. Then returned a blue arrow. Then gone totally. Then New Zealand lady back.
I don't really care about the truck icon style as long as there's something there. I don't use the music control on the screen since that doesn't control my music selection. It's there a way to remove the music player and hopefully lock my icon?
It's been running perfectly for 4 months.
