Recent issues with S3 battery / charging

I have recently started having issues with either the battery or the charging of the S3. For the past week, when i charge over night, when i unplug the device the battery shows 100% charge, but over approximately 10 mins it drops significantly. It usually drops to somewhere between 40-60%, but it is not consistent. Actually, today it only dropped to 71%.

If i start recharging it during the day, it will hold the charge.

Initially, i thought the issue was the cable i was using, as the charging was intermittent. I could wiggle the cable and make the charging stop. I've since switched the cable and also switched the wall plug, but still having the same issue.

Any thoughts?

Are you using a different charger / cable during the day? What happens if you try that one at night?

Yeah. Typically during the day, i charge with a different cable hooked to my work computer. I'll try bringing that cable home and see what happens.

I found a third wall adapter and am going to try that tonight.

It seems like it might be getting to a full charge and then stop charging for the remainder of the night. Is that typical?

Check those wall adapters, and make sure they are 1 amp adapters, rather than the .25 to .75 amp types. They will "work" in the sense that they WILL provide a charge, but the official adapters are 1 amp.

It shouldn't stop charging completely once it gets to 100%, but it will cycle. See the article linked below:

Turns out it was a bad wall plug. Swapped it out with another and no issue last night. Thanks all.
