Recent lagging/freezing issue with the S8/S8 Plus Camera app

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same issue I am, but recently the default Camera app for my S8 Plus is freezing as soon as pictures are taken. This recently started occuring 2 days ago. As soon as pictures are taken the Capture button remains highlighted and the app freezes up eventually after trying to select the other buttons. This issue seems to also be affecting the Gallery app as well when it comes to syncing with the Camera app - pictures are taking a long time to process before eventually being added to the Gallery - and pictures that may have been saved to the Gallery app earlier that day will blur out and become pixelated until the most recent picture has been processed and added.
I have tried the basic trouble shooting steps of deleting the cache and deleting the app data of the Camera and Gallery app. Rebooted the phone thereafter, followed by uninstalling any apps I recently added before the issue came about. I've also verified that other camera apps do indeed work with the camera hardware. All I can see on Samsung's end is that a software update was done a few days ago for "Security patch level: 1 June 2020".
If anyone else is coming accross the same issue and found any solution I'd be grateful. Maybe this problem is overdue and decided to hit me now. Thanks a lot.

Are you saving pics to the SD card? Try saving to internal storage to see if that helps. If you haven't cleared the cache partition and rebooted lately do that first.
Good luck.

Yes I am actually. And it was indeed the micro SD card causing this issue. Thank you! :) Is it then an issue with the SD card? I don't want to clog up the internal memory over time, thats why I prefferred setting the default to the SD card. Maybe I should just transfer all my data to a new card while the current one is still stable.
