Android Central Question

for the last week I have had no mobile connection in my area. Can send or receive texts or calls. But I can once I go into another suburb. But today once I was out of the area, I phoned my son, I could hear him, but he could not hear me. When talking to my daughter she said it became muffled. I had the phone looked at they said as far as they could see all was working well. My mobile carrier has found no problems in my area. So I don't know weather to replace the phone or wait, or even do a factory reset. So what I would like to know can i do a factory reset without the sim card so that i don't wipe the card. All advise and help will be appreciated as I can not really afford to replace it but i need a working service

Resetting with or without the SIM card in the phone ought to make no difference, unless it’s very old. Backing up everything beforehand is the most important thing, and we can advise you about that if you wish; otherwise irretrievable losses can easily occur.

Whether resetting would help in your case, I don’t know.

If you can, try your SIM in another phone, or another SIM in your phone.
