reception issues on 4.04

well I have been on 4.04 for some time now and over the past couple weeks all I have been doing is having problems with reception, I am either dropping calls left and right or the call is all broken up, most of the time people say I am all garbled or in and out but sometimes they are for me. I look at my phone and I have 2-3 bars and I am on wifi most of the time.

Does anyone have any tips on what I can/should do? Should I try swapping the radios or just try a new ROM all together?

At this time I do not have a lot of time to mess around with my phone and was hoping to hold out for the next build (4.05) but I can not take this issue anymore and this will be a last ditch effort before getting another phone (not that I want to as I love everything else about this phone)

thanks

You don't specifically say what ROM you are on.. or even if you are just on a 4.0.4 ROM or you do have the 4.0.4 radios installed... a significant difference. I'm assuming you have the radios flashed.. whatever ROM you're on is generally irrelevant.

If you believe after a fair amount of testing that you got better reception on earlier radios, simply flash back to them... you can run any radios on any ROM, really. This thread has all of them available, just flash in CWR: [RADIOS][Galaxy Nexus] All available radios/basebands - RootzWiki

That was pretty much my experience with the 4.0.4 radios. Data was faster, but both the voice and data connections were less stable. Garbled audio at times, dropped calls and data would show that I was connected but nothing would download until I rebooted. I flashed the 4.0.3 radios and have better connectivity than 4.0.2 and better stability than 4.0.4

4G isn't available in my area yet, so I can't comment on how well/badly it switches between 4G and 3G. It does ok between 3G and wifi though.

Thanks, I will give the .03 radios a shot. I dont use 4G on my phone anyway because it just uses up to much battery when the phone is idle
