Recommendations for a new 8" Tablet

I'm in the market for a new 8”-ish Android tablet to replace my aging Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. I'm looking for something with a high res screen, minimum 3 GB RAM, Android 7 Nougat OS, and SD card storage if possible. I'd also like something with a fast enough processor so I won't see lagging for normal use and some moderate game playing.

I've looked at a few Samsung and ASUS tablets online, but the low specs and some negative reviews by consumers and reviewers have made my decision difficult. Can any help with some recommends? Thanks.

Maybe try the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2? There are 2 versions. A 8" inch and a 9.7". It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The screen resolution is also over 1080p so everything should look very clear.

The tablet is a little bit older now so the price is under $300. Unfortunately there is not a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 in the 8" inch size which was a pity.

If you OK switching brands, the Huawei MediaPad M3 might be worth looking at. It doesn't have as nice screen but still nice to use and performance is great.
