Anyone have suggestions for device protection plans? I preordered a G6 through VZW and I am not going to pay their ridiculous prices. Any suggestions would be welcome.

best one Ive seen so far is squaretrade. $149 for 2 years and $99 deductible. Still not great but better than VZW's plan.

I'll probably be sticking with Worth Avenue Group.

Have them right now on my V20 and a G5. I just ran a quote for the G6: $699 of coverage, $50 deductible, for $6.75/month.

I have not had to file a claim and I think their turnaround is slower than Square trade but they are also cheaper.

That one looks pretty good. If you purchase it in full its 5.66 per month. I see they also cover theft which is awesome.

I wonder how long they actually take for claims. I dont see any mention anywhere about it except one user said it took a while. Also, is there a time frame you have to purchase like with squaretrade? Theirs is 30 days I believe.

You submit the claim, a claims adjuster approves it, then it gets paid out. I believe they process claims on Wednesdays and pay out on Mondays.

Not sure on the timeframe of purchase. I usually get my phone covered pretty quick after my 14 day return window is up just in case.

And yeah paying up front is cheaper but being on JOD I almost never use a full year on a single device so I just don't want to deal with getting the refund.

Pay your monthly cellular bill with a credit card. Many of them offer "cellular telephone protection" insurance and you're automatically covered at no additional charge.

Wells Fargo: https://www.wellsfargo.com/credit-cards/features/cell-phone-protection/

Pay your monthly cellular telephone bill with your eligible Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card and you'll get up to $600 protection (subject to a $25 deductible).

Coverage may include up to four cell phones as listed on your wireless cell phone bill. The cellular telephone is protected against damage or theft, however coverage does not include cell phones that are lost.

Note: Call your cellular provider (or log on to their website) and request to set up automatic payments. Setting up automatic payments is not required to qualify for this cellular telephone protection benefit; however, you need to pay your monthly cellular telephone bill with your eligible Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card to get up to $600 protection.

Cellular Telephone Protection can reimburse the eligible Wells Fargo Consumer credit card cardholder for damage to or theft of a cellular wireless telephone. Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephones are limited to the primary line and up to the first three additional lines as listed on your provider's monthly statement. Cellular Telephone Protection is subject to a $25 deductible per claim and a maximum of 2 claims per 12 month period. The maximum benefit limit is $600 per occurrence and $1,200 per 12 month period. You will receive no more than the value of the original phone or a replacement phone with similar features and functionality, less a $25 deductible. This benefit does not cover cellular telephones that are lost. This protection is only available when cell phone bills are paid from your Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card. The coverage does not apply if the cell phone bill is paid from a Wells Fargo Debit Card, Wells Fargo Business Credit Card, or from the card that is linked to a Line of Credit. Coverage does not apply to cell phones that are rented, borrowed, or received as part of a pre-paid plan. Electronic failure or issues related to the software of the device are not covered. Cellular telephone protection coverage begins the first day of the calendar month following your first cellular telephone billing on your Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card, and remains in effect when you continue to charge your total monthly cellular telephone bill to your Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card. This protection may not be equivalent to or better than other applicable coverage you may have presently or in the future, such as your homeowner's or automobile insurance policies, or through a plan provided through the seller of the telephone. For complete coverage benefits and exclusions regarding this protection call 1-866-804-4770, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or read all the coverage benefits and exclusions within the PDF document provided (PDF).

Thanks I just got mine and cancel the T-Mobile insurance.

Did you get any paperwork on the coverage details. Im a bit confused by this one. When you select the coverage and hover over the "coverage type" question mark, accidental damage, cracked screen and liquid damage isnt covered but on the right its listed.

I bought mine in a hurry and didn't bother to look at everything lol. Here's what is covered. It doesn't cover any warranty issues that is not covered by the warranty of the phone. The only con I see is that if I jump to another device I'll lose $20....

Ok that works. As long as the deceleration page shows those items covered thats all that would be needed.

This is who I chose as well. I read reviews on them and people said they were super quick. You do an online claim and they were cut a check pretty quickly.

Does Worth Ave Group send you a check minus the deductible or a refurbished phone or a new phone?

Just got a square trade policy for $69 ( $20 off ) for 1 year, accidental drops, damages, spills etc. I've never had to use square trade for a phone, but they paid quickly to repair my plasma tv.
