Looking to buy a Chromebook been doing my research and I know I want a four gig of ram looking at HP, acer, asus...

(Side note)... Also a good flash drive... 32,64gb.... Any big difference in 2.0 to 3.0 USB??

I have an HP Chromebook 14 (the older one with the Haswell processor, not the Tegra K1) with 4 GB RAM. It's an excellent machine--good performance, big screen (though not full HD), handles multiple active tabs without difficulty. A while ago, this Chromebook was showing up relatively often in daily deal sites like Woot.com and Groupon Goods, but now I usually just see the newer version (and usually only the 2 GB version). But if you find the Haswell version used somewhere, it's worth considering.

Watched a YouTube video a guy doing a demo with two HP Chromebooks one was a 2gb. Other was 4gb he opened up 20 tabs and clicked thru them the 4gb went through them all with no delay. 2gb had white screen between each tab.. I need nothing fancy but I would have several tabs opened at once and possible a app running in back ground so 4gb is a must . Any use a Chromebook for side load (Google o/I updates). Or root a phone using a Chromebook?

Battery life? Iam a Moderate to heavy user here..... They give most of this a average of 6-8 hrs....

I haven't tracked it, but my HP Chromebook 14 gives me around 5-6 hours of battery life if I'm using it constantly. That's pretty standard for most Chromebooks. I got it refurbished, so it's possible the battery life is suboptimal, since it wasn't brand new when I got it.

Wait for the Chromebook 13 from Dell. Should be out soon. Best Chromebook next to the pixel but more affordable. Battery life is rumor for 12 hours.

I have 2 acers...720 p probably gets 7-8 hours active use. The acer 13 gets 10 hours.

The only thing I don't like about either is the AC port. Very flimsy as is the charger. Don't trust it at all.

Iam Wondering if I'll be able to sideload when Google releases updates for the Android system and if I choose to root can I use a Chromebook for that is it capable of performing those task???

We have an Acer 720P and a Asus Rockchip ARM Cortex A17 #C201PA-DS02.

The day we got the ASUS my wife never picked up the Acer again. Its slimmer, lighter, fanless, faster, multi-tasks better, etc.
