recording applications for musicians??

I am looking to switch from my palm pre to the EVO. I am trying to find out if I will be able to get decent quality recordings of myself singing with my guitar from my jam sessions. Does anyone out there do this? The microphone on my palm pre works great for this purpose, and I'm worried the evo won't stand up to the pre in this area. Please let me know if you have any advise or experience in this realm. Thanks!

Try Virtual Recorder from the Marketplace.
Try Rehearsal Assistant too.

The one that comes installed on Android phones sucks because it records at 4.75kbps, 8kHz.
Crappy quality.

The microphone quality on the Evo seems to be on par with my Pre. I have no quantitative data to support this, this is just my gut feel after listening to my movie recordings with both phones.
