Recovering files - Android 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]

Hello everyone!

A few days ago I dropped my phone, resulting in a non-responsive cracked touchscreen. I don't want to repair it, and trying to recover my photos & videos. The problem is that the latest Android would not allow USB debugging and shows an empty folder if the phone is locked. I had a lock-pattern and there is no way I can swipe it as the screen is broken. ADB won't see my device as well, for the same reason.
So the question, really, is whether there is a way to recover my photos? The phone has a stock android and is not rooted.

For future reference, USB debugging is still there in 4.2.2, they just hid the developer options and you have to unhide them.
