My LG optimus V got rooted today, and I ran ROM manager, fixed permissions and ran clock workmod , but my phone will not boot into recovery. Everything else works fine but Recovery. I heard I am not supposed to use ROM manager after the fact. So, in that case, how would I bare metal backup stock rooted android os, as a recovery, place it on my PC, and then flash cm7 rom? AND FIX my defunc recovery?

Do you have adb up and running on your pc? If not, you could also flash recovery from a terminal emulator on your phone.

Try the instructions in this post for step number 4 and down. (you already have root so do not need to do the first 3 steps).

These can be typed in a terminal emulator (download from market if one is not installed) if you do not have adb setup. If you have adb then open a adb shell via command prompt and paste the commands in.

Thank you but as a tip, because this is what I got caught on when copying commands--Type in the EXACT
.img filename, else it wont work
