Can't get my Tab S11 to boot into the recovery menu by holding down the power button and volume up button simultaneously.

What's missing or has the process changed?

Power Off your Galaxy Tab S11 completely.
Connect the tablet to a computer (or another Samsung device capable of providing a charge) using a USB-C cable. Wait until the charging indicator appears.
Press and Hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously.
Once the Samsung logo appears on the screen, release both buttons immediately.

are those things running on Exynos? my understanding is that procedure is a function of those chips, as opposed to Snapdragon.

Tried both suggestions above using cable plugged into a charger and it still won't boot to the recovery menu.

EDIT TO ADD WORKED WHEN PLUGED INTO LAPTOP BUT WOULDN'T WORK PLUGGED INTO CHARGING BLOCK. WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT

Usually the cable trick or restarting the phone with volume up and power combo at the same time, don't let go after it tries to reboot until the recovery screen appears
