Edit: Use JT1134's new CWM for DL30 and this post is no longer a concern.

So I've been doing lots of reading and I'm finding it a very common theme that people are having numerous issues with red clockwork on DL30. If you haven't put the pieces together yet i'll just throw out what i've found seem to be common threads

-Bad battery life
-Wipe battery stats gives error message in red but not new green
-Red cannot preform a nandroid back up

If anyone want's to guinea pig these issues, or has any more info or problems feel free to jump on board here.

I'm going back to just new green and will try to report back.

I might be wrong but I don't there is specifically a CWM out yet for DL30. I wouldn't be doing too much with it other than upgrading since there isn't an official CW out for Froyo Fascinate yet. Just my 2 cents.

There's a new CWM green that is for DL30 from what i've been able to find out. Not sure what all is up past that, but the red seems to be causing a lot of issues. I can't even remember all of the stuff i've been coming across.

green cwm

The info about the new green cwm specific for this DL30 build came from xda forums. I loaded it right away and used it to flash the original leaked build then Adrynalyne's super clean 0.7 and 0.8 and the accomanying zip files with no problems whatsoever. I did make sure to wipe cache, wipe davilik cache, & wipe data before I flashed any of the roms too. Been reading that people have been having force close issues if they don't do the wipes. If you flash Adrynalyne's super clean, it includes the new green cwm, so that will automatically replace the red anyway as soona as you flash it.

Ya, I was reading a lot of people loading red after the green so I went ahead and did it. Has been having enough problems to cause me concern. Figured I'd go fishing for more input. As a side note I didn't wipe anything when I flashed DL30 on purpose and I came out smelling like roses (was laggy first boot, rebooted and haven't had a problem since.) I think the wipe may have something to do with running really out there roms or something. I was just using Blackhole with touch of blue theme and frankenkernel (voodoo, disabled to flash DL30)

The problem I rad with Red was the flash mounting issue that a ton of people are seeing. What fixed it, oddly, was just booting into CW and then rebooting into CW again, and everything worked great after that.

As far as this "new" green version of CW, care to share where you got it? The latest green I can find is the "DJ05/DL09" version...

The reason red and the old cwm aren't working correct is because they are based off the .69 kernel and not the .32 kernel

Can we flash the new one through red or do we need to do it through Odin?

Are you pointing me at the adrynalyne DJ05/DL09 regular, or the red? I have both of those... What I am still unsure about is, do I have to apply the update.zip to the sdcard even if i use Odin? I guess i havent touched that zip in so long despite going from different kernels and revs of CWM, that it just never struck me as necessary.

Also, what exactly is wrong with using a rev number to distinguish different builds of CWM? All this "new" vs "old" vs "red" nonsense is really frustrating. Just put a rev number on it, bump it when the code changes, and be done with it! How hard is that?

I went and flashed it through recovery, still just shows 2.5.1.0, so I don't know if it is still the old green or the new green. May wait to hear if I have to do it through Odin before doing anything more. All I know is that red appears to be gone.

When I did red through Odin, it became what loaded when I booted into recovery. Now, when I boot in from the phone after it is shutdown, I just get blue and have to do the update.zip to get green.

From what I have been told, you don't have to use Odin. Just flash the new green from red and then apply update.zip to get to green.

Did that, so I can get green, but I don't know if it is new green.

I have to assume that I have new green. Had read posts that old green would not do ROM backups in ROM mgr., so I gave it a try. Worked, showed up in my list of backups.

The new green is built for dl30. The boot loader does not display a build number. If this stuff is took much for you to track you probably shouldn't be rooting. This is s courtesy by some very talented developers., not a consumer product and demanding that it be easy to use seems a bit ingratious. Track down the link for new green. I would post it but I'm on my phone.

battery life much improved without red by the way.

How do I get the Green CWM????
Do I flash back to DL09 and just do the updte.zip thing from there in recovery??

The new green is available as a zip installed from clockwork. just flash from whatever you have now.

and new green acts just like old green, boot to blue then update.zip.
