Red exclamation point in my messages conversation... what is it?

In my text messaging conversation, sometimes I see red exclamation points on my messages. Only mine. I am positive the texts are going through. Why is it doing this, and why only sometimes?

In your text message Settings: Tab Text messages (SMS) and Mutimedia messages (MMS) to select Normal instead of High at Priority Settings. That should do it.

Does the red mean blocked? I've sent thug person texts and no reply....
