Red line while taking pictures

Has anyone else had this problem? A red line appears down the side at times when I'm taking pictures. I attached screenshots. It doesn't appear in that actual picture, just on the screen when trying to take one. Hence the need to take a screenshot.

9 Pro. And it appears along the sides. Switches between left and right, top and bottom.

Have you tried clearing cached/data in the camera app? Does it happen in safe mode?

It looks like it's trying to focus on the face of the subject. That looks like a feature, not a bug.

Did it all after the first time I saw it but it still does it

Is this a new feature? Never happened on my Pixel 8 Pro.

I just turned on Guided Frame under my camera setting and I am not getting that red line down the sides. Does it also do it with Guided Frame off?

OMG! That's it! So my phone is basically telling me I'm an idiot while taking pictures! I'm ok with that! As long as there's nothing wrong with my phone. I was dreading having to send it back for repairs. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! User error, not phone error!
