red speech bubble notiication

So whenever I receive a text, a little envelope shows up in the notification bar. Whenever I miss a call, a separate notification shows up. There is a little red text bubble that shows up randomly that doesn't seem to belong to any of my apps and it doesn't show anything in the notification bar! It is driving me CRAZY because I can't figure out what it belongs to. It doesn't even make a notification sound when I receive it. My phone lights up and it is just silently sitting there in the notification panel.
I have a Samsung S4 if this helps at all.
