Red Xperia XZ Premium coming to US. Why doesn't Sony get more love?

The Pixel 2 XL was my second choice because I refuse to get a phone without front facing stereo speakers but the cost is much higher for almost the same specs. Now that I have the Sony, I think I made the right choice, the finger print reader on the side is great because it still is usable while in a car mount. The screen on the Pixel 2 XL is so-so as well as many reviews noted. 4k screen on the Sony is amazing for video, no black bars. You can also change it to super vivid mode which I prefer.

Ya...i saw that 4K screen in the store (best buy use to carry it). I'd be interested to see when and where the red version comes out. But if I did I'd have to find a way to get the European version or whatever it's called as I'd have to have the finger ID.

Exactly, I can't decided if I should buy the US one and then change the firmware or just buy an international one without warranty. Would have bought one long ago if the fingerprint sensor worked.

I bought the international version at a great price so I added a Square Trade warranty. Love the phone and it's bezels even though I also have a bezel-less iPhone X.

Ya...its a shame I probably won't own one. But you can't own everything ever made. One would be broke

How is the software experience on the XZ Premium?

Its really great actually.. We get about 1 or 2 updates every 2 months which includes the security patch and fixes / updates.. Most recent was "8.49 / Dec 17", SONY leads the way and is equal to Google for Android updates.. faster and more regular than even SS, LG and HTC.

Although I have just "Unbranded" my XZP from O2UK to Open UK, but for me, the latest "8.49" build did a nice fix for some camera distortion / watercolour effect when cropping in.. so both Manual and Auto mode are back on point now, so whether it was something with the the O2 software, which de-branding fixed or the "49" update, im not sure.. but Im happy its sorted..

Also, which youve probably read anyway,,, SONY have massively increased the volume output of the speakers, so you can actually hear the Ring / Notify now. .. and the fact that since the abysmal Z5 issues, theyve really done some work, which tells me that SONY actually read and listen to forums so for me, Im more than happy to give SONY my money.

IMO, Software is great and SONY are doing great with Updates.
