red X's on phone and battery?

Today, I was removing the battery from my phone and noticed the normally white strip (water damage indicator) has red X's all over the phone / battery strip..

Does this mean water damage or is that the default indiciator?

I know for a fact there was no water spilled on the phone.

That is normal for the stickers. If you get the phone/battery wet, the stickers will turn solid red.

A solid white sticker will turn pink or get a solid red line through it...xxx's will turn solid red or pink.
I know the feeling...i remember the first time I saw the xxx's and thought I'd been gypped

What if there is a very small red part on the corner of the battery sticker?
