Was it a conscious decision to leave out Qi wireless charging, or was it a cost or design necessity?

Hi. What kind of security goes into keeping our finger prints safe when using imprint? Are the prints encrypted and stored on the device?

Yea that's a bit of a bummer about USB 3 vs 2, but it's more interesting that Google's reps all didn't know and were telling people it's usb3.

We’re hard at work with T-Mo to get Band 12 on Nexus devices by ship date

I appreciate knowing that they're working on T-Mobile certification, even if the phones will never be available in T-Mo stores.

What does the phone being available in the store have anything to do with it?

I'm really excited to get my hands on this for many reasons, including getting back to buying a phone straight from google and not the carrier or OEM.

If nothing else google has way better support, both technical and customer service.

So they stated that it's USB 2.0 Type C (universal), but then stated it will not support USB to hdmi out! That's crazy talk. I could understand if it's USB 3.1 and they had not figured it out yet, but why remove that functionality from USB 2.0?

So no more streaming Google maps or Netflix etc from my phone to my car screen.

If T-Mobile was selling the phone, we probably wouldn't be questioning Band 12 LTE, VoLTE, and VoWiFi/WiFi calling.

Also, the thing about customer service is that physical locations still matter.

I don't think it's a matter of removing from USB 2 rather than not including the HDMI display output via USB.

After reading the AMA and everything coming out of Google it sounds like T-Mobile support will be the same as buying a moto x. You start with generic Android and no band 12 support and then get a T-Mobile update and you're good to go.

I don't have anything against brick and mortar stores, I've had good luck with getting service from my local Tmo store and don't have anything bad to say about them.

I just don't see the level of T-Mobile support bring tied to the phone's immediate availability at the stores.

1. If the phone is available through T-Mobile, then people like me can make use of T-Mo's JUMP program to get one.
2. My point had more to do with the T-Mo certification than availability. If it gets the certification, then I know that no matter where I get it--Google store or T-Mobile--the phone will work with T-Mo WiFi Calling.

I'm on T-Mobile as well (at least for now) so I'll keep my fingers crossed with you. it sounds like we're in good shape though.

Agreed. But I forgot one other point. If I convince myself that the 6P will eventually show up among T-Mobile's available phones, then I can also convince myself not to buy a new toy that I don't really need.

In another thread LeoRex referred to lashing himself to a mast like Odysseus to save himself from the Sirens. I feel more like Michael Caine in The Ipcress File [1965]: It's gonna take a rusty nail through the palm to keep these ******s from making me crack!
