S26 ultra privacy screen

So odd that Samsung provides the 10 bit displays for the iPhone and iPhone has been using 10 bit displays as far back is iPhone 12 (googled) but even today Samsung won't use it on their flagship. Is it really a cost cutting measure?

What really confuses me... iPhone defaults at 24mb pic on their camera. But I play with the 26U and also read that it still defaults at 12mp. And I thought you can manually set it but the demo on BB I couldn't find it. Why are they not defaulting camera to 24mp when they have a monster sensor? What is the drawback on setting 24mp by default?

You need to use expert raw mode for 24 mb pic as I know

I personally visited the store and have compared s26 ultra with s25 ultra the text clarity is crisp and clear at every angle for s26 ultra there is no issue with s26 ultra display with privacy display off. No strain on eyes.
Display photos taken through camera is not v alid."

I hope so

I have a feeling that unless you have sensitive eyes, eye discomfort will end up being a non-issue for most people. As far as the diminished viewing angles go, the majority of users may not even notice, if they don't have another phone placed next to the S26U, or unless they were thinking about / looking for it (which every one of us on this forum is doing since we're fussy). I guess we'll know for sure in about a week.

IMHO the privacy display issues so many are holding in to complain about here is going to be a non issue or 99% of the people. It's like the notch on iPhones and Pixel phones that was completed blown out of proportion. Because they disappeared when you actually used the phones. Similar to the crease on folding phones....it disappears when actually using the phone.

Still not buying its worth all the hoopla.

I’ll go by Best Buy tomorrow and compare my S25U and the S26U and see for myself.
Everyone here will tell you the upgrade is minimal from the 25U. If you're looking for groundbreaking changes, save your time, there are none. . We just like getting new all the time, hence why most here don't do the carrier deals even though it's best bang for your buck, we just don't keep our phones long.

At the end you need to get what's right for you, if you want something different than a small upgrade look at Foldables or Tri -Fold and if you want the best specs on paper or throw whatever they can try Chinese phone they have something for everyone these days. You even have the option to stay with what you have.

I have seen enough reviews to know what to expect. But also when to know when something is blown out of proportion as well. I upgraded from the S24U to S25U and many previous generations as well. I am one of those guys that upgrade every year.

Well that's fair..I suspect the privacy screen is one of those blown out of proportion deals.
