Reformatted Samsung Galaxy 3 a month ago but phone is now extremely slow.... again

As the title says a month ago I wiped my phone clean and reformatted it because it was nausiatingly slow. I should mention that even before I reformatted it, there was an abundance of free memory available. So anyways I am here again with the same issue, slow running when it shouldn't considering the phine was reset to its factory settings. Suggestions? Would a root better the situation? I'm nit the most advanced user so it'something I would like to avlid until I have time to learn the pricess.

Thanks folks

Welcome.

It may be worth trying a Cache Partition wipe first.

how would I go about performing that? but even after I just did a full reformatting? shouldn't the cache have been cleared too?
