Register fingerprints with swipe lockscreen

I've always used the swipe lockscreen but it seems on my Note 10 that I can't register my fingerprints unless I use a secure lockscreen method... don't want to do that, does anyone know a work around here?

Just stumbled upon this... Still haven't found a way around this... Anyone know?
