Regular Pixel 7 Love Thread

I love my Pixel 7. I am coming from a Pixel 3a. I was pretty interested in the 6 pro before the 7 came out. The size kept me from pulling the trigger. Didn't think I would need the zoom camera nor the additional upgraded specs in my real world day to day usage either.

I was able to get it free through trade in with my carrier which was an added plus.

Still loving my P7, but.... Have now had black screen of death show up this morning while scrolling through an article I was reading. I did a hardware reset and back up, but a bit concerned to see occur so soon.

I traded in my pixel 6 for 7 for the main reason that the 7 is a touch smaller. I'm happy with it!

What an AMAZING deal! And going from the 3a to the 7 is a huge jump! Sounds like a worthwhile and fun upgrade! Happy Phone Day!

Switched from P4XL to P7P. I though P7P would be a good feel since the dimension of the phone is only slightly bigger (0.1 inch taller and .05 inch wider compared to 4XL). But honestly I think the screen might be too big for my hand - I feel like I'm constantly reaching on this phone with one hand, and never felt that on the 4XL - could still just be the adjustment of getting used to it, but I saw a regular 7 in store over the weekend and the size is really nice and manageable.
Separately, the battery life in P7P after 2 weeks is....fine... Definitely better than 4XL, but not SO much better. Seeing pretty consistent reports that regular 7 is getting more battery mileage.

As FYI, this thread is about the regular P7, not the Pro.

I upgraded from the P6 to the 7. A slight upgrade to be sure but I love everything that they changed. It's slightly smaller and lighter and I enjoy the option of face unlock along with the improved fingerprint sensor.

How reliable have you found the face unlock?

I've heard that the 7 is smaller than the 6. I like that! Glad you're enjoying your 7!

0.1" smaller. But in my opinion, moving the power & volume buttons lower on the right side makes it feel smaller when holding it. That's been my experience, thumb has to move less distance to click power or adjust volume so the phone "seems" smaller.

I agree. It's physically not that much smaller than the 6 but the difference was immediately noticeable. I hope they shave it down a little more for the 8 as well! :)

That's awesome! Simple changes like button placement can make an enormous difference!

The two are almost identical in physical size. So I wouldn't worry about going with the pro in terms of its in hand feel.

Had the 7 almost 2 weeks and like it more all the time. Glad I decided to not wait and pick it up sooner than later. I think face unlock works reliably well in good light and has surprised me and worked in somewhat dim light as well. Battery life is probably the best of any smartphone I can remember previously. Really haven't found anything yet that I dislike about it. :)

I can't really think of any complaints with mine either. I had a few minor issues with Android Auto & UConnect in my Jeep with my Pixel 6 and those minor issues have not happened in 2 weeks with my P7. I'm very happy with the phone.

I've said it a couple times.... Worth repeating. Really nothing spectacular in the P7 vs P6, P7 is now what the P6 should have been to begin with.
