My Girlfriend rooted her HTC Incredible and then had it flashed over to Cricket. She is unhappy :( with Cricket service..missed calls, no MMS, and so on. She wants to go back to Verizon now.

All I want to do is restore the phone back to it original setup with Android 2.2 or 2.3 or whatever, with my iPhone all you do is plug it in and hit Restore and Presto its back to original setup. What do I need to do to get back to square one with her Incredible and more importantly some directions ....TY....Tim

Since she is rooted...

Download this file
http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/bui...and-2.15.00.07.28-hboot-0.92.0000_PB31IMG.zip

Step 1) make sure that her SD card is formatted FAT32

Step 2) rename this file PB31IMG.zip - (In windows go to Folder options and under file types make sure the line for "Hide known file extensions" is Un-checked)

Step 3) place the file on the root of the SD card

Step 4) Turn the phone off and restart it by holding the down volume and the power button at the same time. This will take you to HBOOT. HBOOT should prompt you to install the file. Press the Up Volume button to install.

When it's done it should prompt you to reboot and you will be back to stock.

WARNING: THIS WILL REMOVE EVERYTHING ON THE PHONE, but not the SD card so be sure you have things like contacts, calendar, pictures, ect backed up first. This will also remove root, but s-off will still be active so re-rooting should be no problem.

Good Luck!

Not saying its not going to work but, restoring and changing the carrier ESL is very different.

Reseting your iPhone lol in iTunes is just is exactly that. I if you were to have your iPhone on T-Mobile and wanted to rerun to at&t, the one click method would not enough.

I heard that if you flash a phone to metro pcs or similer. That you can never go back.
