reinstallation of accidentally uninstalled system app

Hi everyone,

yesterday, i accidentally uninstalled an app which makes the camera app to crash when i start it up. I think the culpirit is com.sec.factory.camera. So i downloaded the apk and tried to reinstall it using the adb shell command: pm install com.sec.factory.camera, but it returns me an "Can't open non-file" error message. I'm a noob, so i don't really know what this message means. I also tried to download the apk directly on my phone, but when i try to install it, the systems returns me a "non installed application" message" at the end of the process.

So i don't really know what and how to do to get this apk installed. Your help would be really appreciated.

Btw, my phone is a samsung s7 edge and it's running Oreo 8.0.

So are you rooted? That's the only way I know of to uninstall a system app.... Anyway not only might you need the app back but you have to get the correct app. So not only does it have to be the one for Android 8.0 but it has to be the one for S7 Android 8.0.

If you're rooted you could just reinstall the S7 Android 8.0 ROM which would include the missing files/app right in there where it should be.
