Release Dec. 8th?

/facepalm

This IS official word from Verizon. It's from Verizon TO Verizon. This wasn't meant for public consumption, however, it doesn't make it ANY less true than if they held a press conference about it.

Explain to me, then, why Verizon would give a "rumored" date to their own employees who are responsible for 1) Making sure the store meets all OMM/merchandising standards at all times 2) Is ready, both in terms of accessory and device inventory but also in marketing, signage, posters, etc., for the launch of a device

There are a lot of things I am willing to put some faith in to believe, for the sake of believing it. However, one of them is NOT the purposeful spread of misinformation to corporate employees by other corporate employees for the sake of perpetuating a rumor and confusing a handful of nerds on the internet.

I get that we don't want the 8th to be true. I hate it, because I thought I'd have had the GN in my hand back on October 27th. I believed a stupid rumor that was never proven with any kind of OMM screenshot like the one I've provided here. The 8th, however, is believable because it's been officially communicated by VZW internally, from those who knows to those who need to know.

Because similar sheets like that have "leaked" and those dates have passed.

I'm working on the basis that 12/8 is the target now.

Several pointers toward it (incl. the Canadian launch) plus it seems "about right": not so far after the original intention of a November launch, but far enough away that an announcement and pre-order period are still feasible. (Making for a more "normal" launch than the "Hey surprise! It's Black Friday, come get your Nexi now" zero-warning release that some people have been hoping for.)

Anything later than that and my interest may seriously start waning. I'm dying to get off this slow-ass 3GS, I'm dying to get off AT&T's horrible coverage onto Verizon, and from 3G to LTE. But between the slight compromise on hardware specs, this new "volume" bug on the UK version, and the fact that I'll be out of the country through the end of December anyway (where CDMA is useless), a launch date after 12/8 may end up making me wait until January to see what else crops up.

Verizon needs to get this phone out and selling before it's straight-up usurped by the next generation of native ICS phone announcements. 12/8 will put the launch close to 2 months after initial announcement, an eternity in tech terms. Its novelty is waning by the day: at this rate it's barely going to get any headstart on ICS updates for other devices.

It's internal communication, unless we know the context, we don't know if this is the actual release or tentative dates. Stop announcing these leaks as factual release dates because it is more than open to interpretation as to what these are really saying

Its clearly the 8th. Its a complete North American launch, including Canada. If you expect anything else you will only be sorely dissapointed.

I don't think people do not think it will be the 8th I think the fact that people post random things and say this is the fact and get mad when people are apprehensive about believing it with how many leaks have come and gone before. I think it will be the 8th, but what is saying those documents are something someone made just for attention? That is why people question the documents and not the date so much.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. My 3GS still works just fine, so I don't *need* a new phone now, on December 8, or even anytime soon. These delays really do start to make me think about waiting until next year. It's the clean ICS install that mostly keeps me interested at this point. I'm sure much fancier phones will launch early next year, but the next Nexus phone is still over a year away.

I am assuming the 8th at this point but you have to admit those printouts are something most of us could have made in a matter of minutes.

1. Type up some facts add some rumors.
2. Print it out
3. Black out some text to add effect.
4. Take half ass picture of it for more effect.
5. Upload to internet.
6. Laugh your ass off.

Not saying that is a fake but its way to easy to make something like that. There has already been 4 or so of those printout on past release date. And while the date seems realistic I'm taking it as rumor until Verizon official gives the word.

The week is young yet. There is a (slight) chance still of a release Wed or Fri.

Pleeeeese make it happen

Please look at the two attached images in my post here. Read them, in full. It has full launch details for phones around/on Black Friday, and after. The Galaxy Nexus is scheduled to launch on December 8th, after Black Friday.

In essence, there is no Black Friday launch. There is no November launch. This phone IS scheduled for December 8th. Verizon OMM Merchandising wouldn't have false information. There is no hope for Black Friday or any other November launch date. Two weeks. Wait it out. We'll get our phone.

Premium, i'm referring to this link http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus/135409-release-dec-8th-2.html#post1422864

that phone was supposed to be out the 17th according to the leaked document that said the nexus was w/o the 21st.

Although that one previous document showed 11/17, the one from earlier in this thread showed 11/23 as a direct fill for the illusion. Saying that this further backs up the validity of the documents somewhat.

Not really. It just means whoever made them has access to the internet and a simple google search and if they are faked( not saying they are or aren't)

I believe the lady. Her boyfriend who works at VZW gave her this info. Seems to coincide with other info.
Damn my bad for calling you a lady https://twitter.com/#!/@JFMFT, Sir.
