Lately, it feels like Android Central has become samsung.com/androidcentral...

I read the site every day, and for several weeks at a time, Samsung articles as far as the eye can see... Also, advertisements. I use a Nexus 6 (and have for quite some time now) and it struggles to scroll through the page smoothly while it loads advertisements.

May as well just switch to an iPhone so I can read the website.

I don't think I would say that it is getting that heavy with Samsung. I just took a look myself, and 6 out of the first 10 articles are not related to Samsung.

Well it does seem that Android Central showers too much love on Samsung phones. Reading the recent Note 5 review, they didn't even include lack of micro SD card slot, poor battery life and non removable battery in the cons section. Had this been a non Samsung phone, i doubt it would have received such praise.

It's just the release cycle. When the G4 came out, it seemed like LG Central. The Note 5 just came out. Wait and see, in the next few weeks we should see Nexus news really ramp up. G4 Pro news as well. I'll also point out that there's been a lot of Motorola news as well.

So far this year I've been accused of paying too much attention to, and writing too much about (and getting paid under the table from them as incentive to do it):

  1. Motorola
  2. HTC
  3. Samsung
  4. LG
  5. ASUS
  6. Alcatel

But we still have a few months left in the year so I can write too much about your favorite brand.

Yeah i understand that. Although i want the Android Central editors and writers to be very strict when reviewing phones.
If a phone feels overpriced mention it the cons section, if battery life is poor(samsung note 5) mention it in cons section instead of telling your readers to carry around portable power bank(WTF?), if a phone removes some major features like micro SD card slot and removable battery which the previous years model had(note 5 again) , then mention it in the cons. Be strict when reviewing any brand. Don't shower unconditional love on any phone. Please be strict strict strict.

I will admit, the part about the battery pack is a bit much. Otherwise, I think we all knew what was coming (take the GS6 as an example) and that's where the review came from. This is the direction Samsung has decided to go in. Might as well roll with it.

That being said, I'm not a fan. I've never owned a Samsung device and have no plans to. And I'm sure there's plenty of Note 5 bashing reviews going on out there in the web.

Right now Samsung has released many new phones -- The S6, S6 Edge, S6 Active, Note 5, S6 Edge + ... So therefore they are getting a lot of attention. They still are Android and releasing that many phones in a short time frame can cause a lot of coverage regarding them.

I am sure once the Moto X comes out we will see coverage on it -- just like we saw it on the new Moto G :).

Sorry, but this is #Thread.

The one article you wrote today about the ZTE phone was also too much. #ztecentral

Hmm i think i need to get this straight.
Firstly let me point out again how Galaxy Note 5 review didn't mention lack of 128gb storage option, questionable battery life, lack of micro SD and removable battery.
Now let me point out this ZTE Axon Pro which was reviewed on Android Central just 5 hours ago.
Lets see what does it say in the pros and cons.
The Good
Performance on par with phones costing hundreds more
Impressive headphone audio
Full manual controls in camera
Fully compliant with all major GSM networks in the US
The Bad
No dual front speakers, though room is there for them
Only available in 32GB storage option
We've seen some intermittent software issues
Battery life is questionable
Explain how "only 32gb storage option" and "questionable battery life" made it in a $450 ZTE phone cons list but there was no "only 64gb storage option" and "questionable battery life" in the $850 Note 5 cons list.
Guys please atleast make your reviews consistent.

I can give this a shot. 64 is bigger than 32 and far more than most people need. And the battery life on the Note 5 so far looks awesome? Am I missing something? The Note 5 is easily blowing through a day's work while the Axon is barely making it, if at all.

The Axon says, "The battery life is adequate. Most of the time I could stretch it out until I went to bed, but if I ended up sitting in my chair surfing the net or playing a game for a few extra hours while my wife watched a movie I didn't care for, I needed to plug it in. Quick charge means I didn't have to spend all night tied to the wall, but it's something to be aware of. Battery life is borderline, and you should be prepared to charge more often than you would like."

That means both things on the Note are better, thus not going to be cons on the note - while both are cons on the Axon.

Do what I do: Ignore the pros/cons sections. They're somewhat subjective and a little bit arbitrary, and to me as useful as giving a phone a "score." And if you need one of us telling you whether that feature is good or bad for YOU personally, then we're all doing this wrong.

As for the rest of the "too much XXXXXXXXX", we go through this *every* year. :)
