Trying to delete apps. Getting can not uninstall. HOX is rooted & unlocked. Help

Use Titanium Backup. It is the easiest way to remove apps from a rooted device

I'm not rooted but I just hid them. I don't have space issues and figured hiding them kept them from always asking for updates and kept them from running and bothering me.

Thanks to both of you...

I deleted allot of them with T back up... I wondered though is it safe to delete navigation and the ones others

Thanks
Larry

Thanks it worked..Now thinking of a ROM . Have to figure out TWRP file .

If you're rooted (and you should be unlocked as well imo) you can download Goo Manager from the Play store and install TWRP by hitting the menu button and selecting Install OpenRecoveryScript.

Then go over to XDA and install CleanROM 4.1, love your phone 100x more.

Even if you are rooted you can not uninstall the AT&T apps from Settings/Apps! Just use a file manager if you are rooted and go to system/app, make sure that you are r/w (read/write) at the top of the screen in Root Explorer (what I use) and delete whatever apps you want to. Don't forget to delete the .odex also. Reboot. You don't have to but I would go into recovery (CWM) and wipe the cache partition and the dalvik cache. You can also use TB to wipe the dalvik, I have the pro version so I don't remember if that option is available in the free one. The only apps I kept were ATT_Hotspot and TetheringGuard and there are mods to remove being forced to use the hotspot and to get usb/wifi tethering working. ;)

Here is a list of AT&T apps that are safe to remove and I have been running without these for just over two months. I also removed stocks, friendstream, twitter, flickr, google+, facebook, basically all the social apps I don't want to do from my phone.

You will need to root your phone for this. Would you like to root your AT&T one X?

Re: Remove At&t Apps

I don't know what file manager you're trying to use but the only one I've ever used is Root Explorer. Whichever one you do use you have to mount your system as r/w (read/write). In Root Explorer there is a button towards the top that allows you to mount r/w or r/o (read/only).

I like ES File Explorer better :D
