Hi All,

As you know, I have greatly been impressed with the LG G2 compared to my Nexus 5.

I have noticed 2 apps that are taking up a lot of the battery:

1) Smartshareprovider

2) DLNA

whats interesting is that I have disabled all these "smartshare" / "DNLA" type features, so not quite sure how they are still running.

Do you think its save to remove these apps? I can see their apk's but not sure what is the best way to remove them ... or even if I should !

I would have used greenify to freeze them, but greenify cant seem to "see" these apps.

Do you have Smartshareprovider / DNLA running ?

oh and yes I am rooted

Interesting, I don't have either running when I check. I don't do anything in particular to manage battery.

This SmartShare thing has been killing my battery as well.. though, I'm not rooted. I don't know what it is.. can anyone tell me how to turn it off, or uninstall it??

Go to settings>apps>all>scroll down to SmartShare Beam and SmartShareProvider>open each one and "disable".
I believe that SmartShare is a way to share media from your phone to your TV. I just disabled both of them and hopefully it won't have any adverse effects on other functions. If so, you can always "enable".

I disabled both of those a few days ago and I haven't had any issues, and my battery life has been amazing.

I did the exact same thing and I can confirm it has made a MASSIVE difference.

I took my phone of the charger around 7am yesterday. In the park, I took about 20photos and even installed a few apps while I was out. In the evening (8pm) I was using the phone a lot (mainly surfing) and my batter was only a bit below the 50% mark!!!

amazing !
