Were you looking under System instead of Secure? It's not in the same place as the wifi notification key and may be a different number.

Yea, I was looking under secure. I checked system too, but its also not there.

weird. Definitely works on mine. With screenshot 1, the value (see last record) is set to 1 and I get the popup.

Change it to 0 and no more popup

Sweet. Works now. I added the key manually, and rebooted. Launched Facebook and no notification. Thanks!

Just to clarify, does that edit remove the pop-up that appears when you open something like Facebook, or does it replace the notice permanently embedded in the pull-down menu? (Or both?)

Is there anyway we could get the wifi toggle like all the other variants? I'm just waiting for someone to figure that out and then gone is the ongoing notification for wifi.

There's two edits. The one in the linked article removes the on going notification only. The one PJnc284 pointed out removes that irritating popup notification you get when you're on the VZW network and launch an app that uses data (not just Facebook, but any I believe - only tested it with a couple apps).

I have no issue using WiFi at home, and I do, I just have an issue with being told what to do or how to use my device so that popup seriously had to go.

I agree with you about the popup and the wi-fi annoyance. My data is actually faster on 4G at home than my Comcast broadband delivers, so I'm not using wi-fi. I'm getting sick of seeing that pop-up.

Yep, there is a zip file posted on xda that gives you the wifi toggle back in the notification bar.

There's even a return to stock zip if you have to return to stock, though you could just flash an oem tar file with Odin for that.

It's super easy, as long as you are rooted and have an alternate recovery that can flash zip files. Here's mine in OEM green:

ok my wifi pop up is back, used the editor to set both wifi things to 0 and they were both already at 0!

The ongoing notification is still gone but the pop up has come up when launching a few apps
