Removing picture to the left of contacts

Does anyone know how to remove the little avatar person to the left of each contact in the phone book? It's really annoying, I don't set pictures for my contacts so I just want the names of the people without the little avatar picture to the left. Thank you

I don't believe so. It is in the people list and can't be removed

Actually yes. But it depends on what ROM you are running. If you are running AOSP, there are options where you can turn off contact pictures in the phone book. But most Sense ROMs you cannot.
