Welcome aboard dale could you be more specific with what you need advice on? Like the preinstalled apps you want to keep them or get rid of them? As for as getting the most from your phone do not use task killers the fascinate already has one built in. Rooting seems very tedious at first but give this a read and explore around the forums a bit, then maybe you might be inclined to do so, thats how I first started out.

Simple answer... if you just want the phone to work with no real problems leave them alone. They really hurt nothing just eat up system resources. If you want to improve battery life & some other nit picks then read every post about rooting in these forums. It won't take as long as you fear it will just grab a Coke & start at the top. In no time you'll be ready to either take the plunge or say it's not for me. There is no wrong choice.

Yes, you do need to be rooted to gain access to the folders the preinstalled app files are stored in. But it is very easy. If you're not up to manually removing the apps on your own, you can follow DroidXcon's great tutorial (linked below) on how to install one of his packaged roms which will have everything you need built right into it. Since you're looking to get rid of the extra "bloat ware" that comes on the phone, I would recommend the Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak, or if you want something slightly custom, and fan favorite of many including myself, check out Super Clean version 2.9.2. Either one is a great leap towards what this phone is really meant to be and makes it much more enjoyable to use.

As previously stated, stay away from task killers. The Android system manages RAM on it's own already. If it needs more than what's available, it will end a process to make space. If you manually kill everything, you're actually using more resources and battery for the phone to start up the things it needs to run again. Just use the back button instead of home to close apps when you're done with them, and periodically check the task manager app for the few randoms that don't close by the back button (stock browser, music player, etc) and end them accordingly.

Hey thanks for all that so task killer are a no go does it vet rid of cache files as well. Now the next question ill use the skype appear as an example if I don't open it is it running in the back ground sending and reciveing data or is it not because I haven't opened it I'm guessing an appear is like a program ok a computer and it doesn't run unless you open it. I would not consider myself to ever want to be a superuser I don't even know what a rom is I play on my phone more then anything. I want it to run and perform the best it can if footing it is the best way the so be it. Again thanks for the help and I can't give any tech advise and you guys take time to read and help me so ill help you guys in any fitness questions you have I'm certified CFT and Nutritionist and Strength and Conditioning its they only way I can pay it back

+1 to this...Just wanted to add that jumping up to one of the Superclean ROM's may wipe all your data, apps, contacts, etc. Just make sure that you read DXC's thread very carefully, and ask any questions before you go ahead.. I would definitely make sure you've at least got your contacts backed up to GOOGLE before ODIN...

These may also be helpful if you haven't read yet..

If you just want to clear the bloat off the phone, and want to play ultra-safe, then you might also consider using Launcher Pro. It has a feature that will allow you to "hide" apps that you don't want to see. They will still exist on your phone, and may run in the background etc, but you won't see them in the app drawer..

and also when i plug up my phone to my computer nothing happens i got double twist and it dont even shoe up on there so i can transfer my music and what is a ROM

First step, Unplug your phone from your computer and leave it alone.Second step, definitely read up my man ..this was all new to us at one point, so we know where your at! I too got into this for optimization of my bloated, burdened phone, I knew it had more potential.

With that said, rooting your phone may not be the way you want to go right now...you'll need to understand what we need to know if something goes wrong.Figuratively speaking, I wouldn't try to squat 300, till I could push 250 a few times, and wouldn't do that till I knew how to squat properly...Jumping right in could do some ir-reversible damage....When your ready, all of us will definitely get your spot..I know you wouldn't want someone to get hurt in your gym on your watch, and we dont either..Just looking out for you brother..
