Removing shutter sound?

I can't check on my wife's Viper since it's not rooted but I just checked on my GNex, maybe I can at least point you in the right direction. /system/media/audio/ui/ and find the .ogg named camera_click or something like that. Just rename it to <filename>.ogg.bak and it should work. I did the same thing on my old Moto Admiral although I'm not sure of the exact path on that.
