Removing unneeded files

I have a 32 g bytes Note 5 and the Gear VR. Downloading 3d content can fill my memory up pretty quickly. Looking in Settings/ Storage I see that there are 13 g bytes of miscellaneous files. How can I clean some of those files?

Can you show us a screenshot of the Settings>Storage menu? Some devices include system files in the "Miscellaneous" category. Other apps that might contribute include media apps that might cache files locally (like streaming music or video apps), so check those apps in the App Manager to see how much Data and Cache they have.
