Removing widgets from the home screens

On MY tablet, I hold the widget with my right thumb, an X appears on the left side of the screen briefly, I quickly hit the X and it deletes the widget icon. I discovered that by accident. My tablet is a Polaroid Android, so I don't know how it works on other tablets.

I want to remove a widget Google app from my home screen .... And pls don't say long hold it and remove ... Coz there no such x or remove option available there..... Any othere solution ..... For moto E3

Welcome to Android Central! The Google search bar widget often can't be removed, especially if you're using the Google Now Launcher. If you can't remove your search bar, then the next best thing is to install an alternative launcher (like Nova Launcher), which does allow you to remove the Google widget.
