Rename files

I have a Toshiba Thrive. Is there a way to rename .jpg files copied to it? I have tried in file manager and Photoshop Express without success.

I could have sworn pressing a file's icon for a few seconds brought up a menu w/ a rename option. Don't just tap on the file hold down on it for about three seconds.
