Sooo, I have a Droid X2 running 2.3.4 from OTA, and I rooted it so that I could try and clear up some of this bloatware taking up my RAM all the time, like Slacker and Skype. I was following a guide I found on another forum, but it was meant for the Droid 3, not the X2.
The guide said it was fine to remove the Messages and Messaging apps, as long as you had a third-party SMS app installed. This has proven to be incorrect, as I can no longer receive SMS or MMS messages!
How do I repair this?
(By the way, to answer the inevitable question of why I removed the apps instead of simply freezing them, the short answer is because I'm stupid and OCD.
