Hello,
Apologies if this has been asked before. I did a quick search, but not a thorough search.

Is it worth replacing the battery to a get another year or so out of the phone? What's a "good day" on an S6 on Nougat?

My teenage sons have Galaxy S6s on VZW. They're a few months shy of 2 years old. Battery life is pretty poor. Maybe about 6-8 hours before they need a charge. Problem is, they're in school when they need that charge (not like us "adults" with desks and offices...) and they're all busy after school. So my wife and I rely on them having working phones.

I'm more of a Moto guy than a Sammy guy, but I've been around a bit and know the basics of good battery hygiene and how to use a phone.

I took one of the phones for a few day, FDR, tried all of the Sammy TouchWiz/Andorid tweaks other than the Batt Saver modes and barely got a comfortable 8 hours before needing a charge. I'm mostly a conservative user. A few phone calls, txts, read various forums and RSS feeds. No big gaming, youtube, etc... I know the boys use their phones more.

Make sense to replace the battery or am I chasing unicorns?

Yes, I'm posting the same question on another forum.

It does seem that the batteries are wearing down.
But also it's a hard process to get those batteries out
You have to take off the back glass disconnect fingerprint scanner disconnect ribbon cables and need to heat adhesive to get back off

If you can do those things go ahead
Otherwise people charge slot to get those things fixed because of the back
