I had recently cracked my LCD Screen and ordered a replacement. Got the replacement screen today and installed it without any problems or so i think. Got everything put back together and turned it on and the screen is black. The phone loads up without hesitation it seems like as it says "Droid" and then you can toggle the volume up and down. My question is, has anybody ran into this problem? Or does anybody have any suggestions as to what might have went wrong.

Would a factory reset fix this problem. I tried to put the original busted LCD screen back on and it's doing the same thing. The lights on the bottom buttons are lit up and i can still recieve calls. I'm lost on what to do. No, i don't have insurance on it.

My guess would be if you have omled on phone and received slcd. Different screen types require different firmware well at least with tvs and laptops.

Did you ever get this fixed d_toll??? What ended up being the problem? I'm in the exact same situation, I replaced the digitizer glass put the phone back together and now the display is just dark. I double checked that the ribbon cables are all connected correctly. The screen is black. In a dark room I can see faint horizontal lines running across the screen, but that is it. The lines change when I do things on the phone.
